McTIGHE, John P., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, February 9, 1863 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; detective, city police bureau, Pittsburgh (1886-1900); member, city bureau of education, Pittsburgh; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1898); elected to Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1900; resigned from the House, October 20, 1901; assistant superintendent of police, Pittsburgh (1901-1902); superintendent of police, Pittsburgh (1903); engaged in real estate; died, July 17, 1906 in the city of Baltimore, Maryland.
