McQUOWN, John Franklin “Frank,” a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Berwick, Columbia County, Pa., January 6, 1876; coal miner; blacksmith; clerk, Central Railroad of New Jersey; chief, Ashley Fire Department; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1908; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1910); elected, mayor, Ashley Borough (1918-1922); restaurant proprietor; died, January 12, 1928 in Ashley, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
