McOWEN, Lawrence Francis, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, ca. 1874; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania School of Law, 1900; captain, Company E, 6th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard; attorney; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1902); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1909); assistant city solicitor, Philadelphia (1917-1918); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1920; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1922).
