LESCOVITZ, Victor John, a Representative from Allegheny, Beaver, and Washington Counties; born in Midway, Washington County, Pa., March 18, 1953; graduated, Fort Cherry High School, 1971; B.A., Washington & Jefferson College, 1975; M.A., University of Pennsylvania, 1983; teaching certificate, math, California University of Pennsylvania (now Pennsylvania Western University, California); served, United States Capital Police Force (1975-1977); math teacher (1977-1980); elected, council president, Midway, Pa. (1977-1981); member, Pennsylvania’s Southwest Economic Development Group Advisory Board; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in a Special Election on March 11, 1980, to serve the remaining 1979 term; Sworn-In, April 8, 1980 and reelected for 13 more consecutive terms; elected, Democratic Policy Chairman (1999-2002); appointed, Local Government Commission (1989-2006; chair, 1993-1994); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2006).
