McCURDY, Samuel, a Representative from Berks County; born in Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pa., March 6, 1865; farmer; laborer; employed, freight and tickets, Pennsylvania Railroad Company; general store clerk; agent, Adams Express Company; engaged in production and sales of confectionery and soft drinks; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1915 term and reelected for 4 consecutive terms thereafter; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1924); died while in office, November 30, 1924 in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
