McCONNELL, Calvin Bruce, a Representative from Mercer County; born in Jefferson Township, Mercer County, Pa., June 7, 1852; attended, Clarksville Academy; graduated, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), 1872; first lieutenant, Company A, 15th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1898-1899, Spanish-American War); teacher (8 years); elected, school director; farm equipment salesman, International Harvester (1880-1923); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1908, 1910, 1912); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1916); died, March 25, 1923 in Pymatuning Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Glenwood Cemetery, Clark, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
