McCLAIN, Frank Bernard, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, April 14, 1864 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pa.; graduated, Lancaster High School, 1881; honorary doctorate of law, Villanova University, 1911; bookkeeper, buyer and salesman in the livestock business (1889-1925); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1895 term; reelected to serve 7 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Special Committee to Investigate the State Treasury (1897); elected, Speaker (1907-1908); resigned from the House, March 18, 1910; elected, mayor, Lancaster (1910-1915); elected, Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania (1915-1919); died, October 11, 1925 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
