MAYNE, Joseph W., a Representative from Lehigh County; born, October 15, 1858 in Trenton, Mercer County, NJ; graduated, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania); graduated, Muhlenberg College, 1881; graduated, Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, 1884; minister, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tinicum, Pa.; editor, New Era of Catasauqua (1898-1900); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1900 and 1902; resigned from the House, June 14, 1903; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1904); died in 1921; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
