MARVIN, Alfred, a Representative from Pike County; born, April 11, 1873 in Port Jervis, Orange County, NY; LL.B., New York University Law School, 1896; newspaper reporter; lawyer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1906; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912); gubernatorial appointee, chair, Delaware River Toll Bridge Commission; appointed, board of trustees, Farview State Hospital for the Criminally Insane (1914-1918); died, August 12, 1942 in Matamoras, Pike County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis, Orange County, New York.
