MARTIN, John M., a Representative from Mercer County; born in Wilmington Township, Lawrence County, Pa., August 2, 1849; graduated, Westminster College, Pa.; graduated, Bellevue Medical College, NY, 1874; physician; first lieutenant, assistant surgeon, 15th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1898, Spanish-American War); elected, council, Grove City; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1894; reelected to the House in 1896, 1898, 1906, 1908 and 1910; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1912); vice president, First National Bank of Grove City; died, February 5, 1923 in Grove City, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodland Cemetery, Grove City, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
