LINTON, Josiah Selfridge, a Representative of Philadelphia County; born, June 24, 1839 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada; private, Company A, 18th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); woolen rag merchant; paper manufacturing salesman; elected, common council, Philadelphia (9 years); elected, board of education, Philadelphia (2 years); elected as a Fusion Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1909 term; died, December 13, 1912 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
