KNEPPER, Amos W., a Representative from Somerset County; born, April 14, 1841 in Berlin, Somerset County, Pa.; corporal, Company E, 133rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862, Civil War); deputy sheriff, Somerset County (1 term); engaged in the real estate business; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1906; reelected in 1908; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1910 General election; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1910); died, November 29, 1935 in Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; interred, Husband Cemetery, Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
