KIESS, Edgar Raymond, a Representative from Lycoming County; born in Warrensville, Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pa., August 26, 1875; graduated, Lycoming County Normal School, 1892; school teacher (2 years); president, Hughesville Printing Company; insurance agent; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1904; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1910); trustee, The Pennsylvania State College (now The Pennsylvania State University) (1912-1930); elected, United States Congress (1913-1930); died while in office of the Congress, July 20, 1930 in Eagles Mere, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
