KENNEDY, James Alexander, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, July 4, 1845 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; private, Company K, 60th Regiment, 3rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1862, Civil War); engineer, Philadelphia Fire Department (1879-1903); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1904 and 1906; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1908); clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1913-1914); died, June 2, 1917 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
