ISLER, Charles N., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, January 1, 1868 in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pa.; attended public schools in Pittsburgh; steam fitter (26 years); superintendent, International President of Steamfitters Union (2 years); elected, select council, Pittsburgh (1909-1910); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1912; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); secretary to Pittsburgh mayor W. A. Magee (1913); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Allegheny County (1913); died, December 5, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
