HALUSKA, Dr. Edward James, a Representative from Cambria County; born in Patton, Cambria County, Pa., August 18, 1916; graduated, Patton High School, 1935; B.S. and D.D.S., University of Pittsburgh; captain, Air Corps, United States Army (1943-1946, World War II); dentist; president and director, Cambria Heights Board of Education (24 years); president, Cambria County Board of Education; unsuccessful campaign for Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1978); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1980 and served 6 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee to Study the Availability of and Need for Services to Handicapped Persons 21 Years of Age or Older (1985-1986); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1994); died, June 12, 2002 in Hastings, Cambria County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Marys Cemetery, Patton, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
