IRWIN, George C., a Representative from Blair County; born in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pa., March 1, 1871; corporal, Company C, 5th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1898, Spanish-American War); employed as a tinner (2 years); locomotive engineer, Pennsylvania Railroad Company (17 years); elected, delegate, Republican State Conventions (1899, 1906); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1911 and 1913 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1915 term; elected, register of wills and recorder of deeds, Blair County (1916-1920); died, September 9, 1934 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
