HOOD, Charles Freeman, a Representative from Fayette County; born, January 4, 1861 in Connellsville, Fayette County, Pa.; stenographer, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company; lumber merchant; manager, Newmyer’s Opera House; office clerk, Schoonmaker Coke Company; organized, Duquesne Reduction Company; proprietor and manager, Riverside Manufacturing and Supply Company; proprietor, Highland Electro Coal Company; school director, Connellsville Township; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1904; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1906); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1908, 1912); owner and president, Indian Creek Valley Railroad Company; died, October 10, 1924 in Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hill Grove Cemetery, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
