HONTZ, William David, a Representative from Carbon County; born May 1, 1872 in Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe), Carbon County, Pa.; locomotive engineer; elected, Packerton School Board; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1923 term; reelected to the House for the 1927 and 1937 terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee to Revise the Anthracite Mine Laws (1937-1938); unsuccessful campaigns for reelection to the House for the 1925, 1929 and 1931 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1939 term; died, May 24, 1958 in Hamburg, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lehighton Cemetery, Lehighton, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
