HOCH, Daniel Knabb, a Representative from Berks County; born in Oley Township, Berks County, Pa., January 31, 1866; attended, Oley Academy; printer, Reading Eagle (1883-1894); engaged, grocery business; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898 and 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1908); elected, controller, Berks County (1912-1916); elected, United States Congress (1943-1947); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress (1946); died, October 11, 1960 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
