HELT, Daniel Webster, a Representative from Northumberland County; born in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pa., September 24, 1883; corporal, United States Marine Corps (1901-1905); signal department repairman, Philadelphia and Reading Railroad; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1916 and 1918; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1920); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1920); president, Railroad Signalmen of America (38 years); died, October 21, 1961 in Proviso, Cook County, Illinois; interred, Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois.
