HARTER, Theodore C., a Representative from Columbia County; born in Nescopeck, Luzerne County, Pa., November 10, 1851; graduated, Dickinson Seminary (now Lycoming College); graduated, Bloomsburg Literary Institute and Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania); graduated, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Baltimore, 1881; private physician; elected, council, Bloomsburg; elected, school board, Bloomsburg; physician, Bloomsburg Alms Hospital; president, Keystone Copper and Mining Company; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1910); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1922); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1924); died, January 25, 1931 in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zenith, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
