HARRISON, John T., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, March 8, 1849 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England; enlisted, Company B, 11th Regiment, Maryland Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); employed, express department, Reading Railroad Company (9 years); employed, express department, Texas and Pacific Railway (4 years); proprietor, Harrison and Mallatratt, hosiery business; member, 22nd Ward Republican Committee; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in a Special Election in November of 1891; reelected to the House in 1892, 1894 and 1900; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1896); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1896); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1902-1903); died while in office of the Senate, December 18, 1903 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ivy Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
