HARKINS, James, Jr., a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pa. on December 20, 1898; graduated, University of Pittsburgh; corporal, Company E, 110th Infantry, United States Army (1916-1919, World War I); manager, East End Pharmacy; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1926; served 3 consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1932); died, February 18, 1971 in Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
