HALL, Henry, a Representative from Mercer and Allegheny Counties; born, October 13, 1852 in Edmondsley, County Durham, England; appointed, lieutenant colonel, aide-de-camp, Pennsylvania Governor Hastings and Governor Stone (1895-1904, Spanish-American War); coal miner; teacher (3 years); editor and owner, Mercer Dispatch; elected, recorder of deeds, Mercer County (1879-1882); editor, Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886 and 1888; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1890); legislative correspondent, Pittsburgh Times; clerk, Committee on Labor, United States Congress (1895-1897); reelected to the House in 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); legislative correspondent, Pittsburgh Chronicle-Telegraph; died, October 22, 1934 in Stoneboro, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
