JOHNSON, Edwin George, a Representative from Blair County; born in Altoona, Blair County, Pa., February 15, 1922; graduated, Altoona High School, 1941; attended, The Pennsylvania State University; B.S., economics, University of Pennsylvania, 1948; served, Air Corps, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II); supervisor, Internal Revenue Service, United States Treasury Department; travel agent; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1979 term and served 6 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee on Seasonal Farm Laborers (1984); appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the Problem of Teenage Pregnancies and Parenting in Pennsylvania (1986); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1992); died, May 6, 1999 in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada; interred, Alto Reste Burial Park, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
