GRIMES, Helen D., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, March 25, 1871 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; librarian; member, Mothers' Assistance Board, Pittsburgh; elected, president, Congress Clubs of Western Pennsylvania (4 years); appointed, central leader, campaign against the high cost of living, Federal Department of Justice (1920); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1922; reelected to serve 3 more consecutive terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1930); appointed, lead school milk surveyor, Pennsylvania Agricultural Adjustment Administration (1934); died, May 17, 1957 in Sewickley, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
