Godcharles Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1901 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1902); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1905-1908); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1908); proprietor, The Miltonian (1910-1926); director, Garrett County Coal and Mining Company; gubernatorial appointee, Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth (1915-1923); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Secretary of Internal Affairs (1926); gubernatorial appointee, Pennsylvania State Librarian and Director of the Pennsylvania State Museum (1927-1931); died, December 30, 1944 in Leonardtown, St. Mary’s County, Maryland; interred, Harmony Cemetery, Milton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
