GINGERY, Don, a Representative from Clearfield County; born, February 19, 1884 in Woodland, Clearfield County, Pa.; attended, Mercersburg Academy; attended, Ohio Northern University; captain, Pennsylvania National Guard (1902-1906); hardware and mine supply businessman (1902-1934); civil engineer (1903); construction worker; commercial traveler; elected, chair, Clearfield County Democratic Committee (1916-1917); elected, Democratic State Committee (1919-1920); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1916); elected, United States Congress (1935-1939); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress (1938); employed, Bituminous Coal Division, the Coal Mines Administration, and the Solid Fuels Administration for War, United States Department of the Interior, Altoona (1939-1946); died, October 15, 1961 in Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
