GILLETTE, Dr. John Richard, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, March 24, 1867 in Washington, DC; graduated, Central High School, 1882; M.D., Hahnemann Medial College, 1892; appointed district physician of Philadelphia; elected, school director, 32nd Ward; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Fusion Republican in 1906; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1908); elected, select council, Philadelphia (1917-1920); examining physician for the Draft Board (World War I); chief resident physician, Children’s Homeopathic Hospital; died, July 15, 1940 in Yardley, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pennington Cemetery, Pennington, Mercer County, New Jersey.
