STISH, Thomas B., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pa., January 22, 1950; B.A., psychology, The Pennsylvania State University, 1971; M.Ed., counseling psychology, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, 1975; Ed.S., school psychology, Lehigh University, 1979; former school psychologist; member, Luzerne County Democratic Executive Committee; chair, Hazleton Democratic Party; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1989, 1991 and 1993 terms; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the Divestiture of State General Hospitals (1990); changed party affiliation to Republican in 1994; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1995 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1996); special assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Mental Health, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (1996).
