GARARD, William Franklin, a Representative from Greene County; born, Taylortown, Greene County, Pa. on February 1, 1879; attended, Southwestern Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, California); attended, Waynesburg College; teacher (1899-1918); salesman; elected, Waynesburg Board of Education (6 years); employed, contracting company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1926 and 1930; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1928, 1932); banker; died, August 30, 1966 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
