FREEMAN, William Coleman, a Representative from Lebanon County; born in Cornwall, Lebanon County, Pa., January 27, 1881; attended, Hill School; Litt.B., Princeton University, 1906; honorary doctorate of law, Elizabethtown College, 1949; secretary, Cornwall Ore Banks Company; elected, school director, Cornwall Township (1906-1907); director and president, Lebanon Valley Trust Company (1906-1931); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907, 1909, and 1911 terms; appointed, Commission to Revise Election Laws; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1912); president, Robesome Iron Company; director, First National Bank of Lebanon; founder, Lebanon County Chamber of Commerce (1917); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1925-1932); appointed, Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Banking (1943-1947); died, August 18, 1955 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
