FRANKLIN, James, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, October 31, 1855 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; Sergeant-at-Arms, Pennsylvania State Senate (1889); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election, November 5, 1889; reelected to serve the 1891 term; resigned from the House, September 4, 1891; elected, Sergeant-at-Arms, select council, Philadelphia (1891-1902, 1905-1907); engaged, real estate business; reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1917, 1919, and 1921 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922); died, March 26, 1929 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fernwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, Fernwood, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
