CORNELL, Roy W., a Representative from Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties; born in Abington, Montgomery County, Pa., December 5, 1943; graduated, Hatboro Horsham High School, 1961; attended, Santa Ana Junior College, Temple University, and North Philadelphia Board of Realtors School; president, Sovereign Title Searches, Inc.; salesman, Bailey and Associates; elected, council president, Hatboro Borough; vice chair, Hatboro Republican Organization; member, Montgomery County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1978; reelected to serve 13 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Caucus Secretary (1993-1994); elected, Republican Policy Chair (1997-2004); appointed, vice-chair, Select Committee to Investigate the Tragedy of Teenage Suicide (1986); appointed, Select Committee on Rules Review (1993); appointed, chair, Select Committee for Open-Heart Surgery (1996); died while in office, January 1, 2004 in Hatboro, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
