GRUPPO, Leonard Q., a Representative from Northampton County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., October 6, 1942; B.A., Moravian College, 1977; auditor; elected, chair, council, Washington Township (1966-1971); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1978 and served 9 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate Compliance with the Steel Products Procurement Act (1986); appointed, House Select Committee on Violence (1994); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1998); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1998); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (2000).
