ELY, John F., a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, April 24, 1861 in Redwood, Jefferson County, NY; worked in window glass trade; proprietor, dry goods and department store; engaged in flint and lead glass manufacturing; elected, council, Jeannette (6 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1912; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1914); appointed, board of manager, Pennsylvania Village for the Feeble, Laurelton (1914-1915); died, April 28, 1926 in Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sacred Heart Cemetery (old), Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
