DEARDEN, Robert Roland, Sr., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, March 23, 1845 in Lowell, Middlesex County, Ma.; attended, English and Classical Institute of Springfield, Ma.; president, United States Review Publishing Business (55 years); editor and publisher, Northwestern Review and United States Review; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1883, 1885, 1887 and 1889 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1891 term; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on a Fusion-Republican ticket for the 1907 and 1909 terms; reelected to the House as an Independent Republican for the 1911 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; died, January 26, 1922 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
