DAVIS, Raymond S., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pa., February 4, 1895; graduated, Wilkes-Barre High School, 1913; served, sergeant mechanic, United States Army (World War I); payroll clerk, coal company; auditor, coal company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1924; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1926); appointed, chief deputy tax collector, treasurer’s office, Wilkes-Barre (1946); deputy director, Department of Accounts and Finances, Wilkes-Barre; died, August 17, 1964; interred, Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
