DAVIS, John Thomas, a Representative from Indiana County; born February 25, 1875 in Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, NC; attended, preparatory school of Bucknell University; graduated, law department, Lake Forest College, NC, 1900; ordained, Princeton Theological Seminary (1903); member, Blairsville school board (5 years; secretary, 3 years); associational missionary under the State Baptist Convention (3 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1918 and 1920; resigned from the House, January 27, 1922; appointed, Director of Prohibition, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (1922-1923); pastor, Powell Point Church, NC; died, June 13, 1941 in Powell’s Point, Carrituck County, North Carolina; interred, Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
