CRAWFORD, Joel, a Representative from Armstrong County; born near Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pa., February 22, 1843; attended, public schools of Kittanning; served, Company K, 78th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War), and first lieutenant, Company K, One Hundred and Fourth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1865, Civil War); clerk to the commissioners, Armstrong County; elected, justice of the peace, Armstrong County; elected, prothonotary, Armstrong County (3 terms); elected, commissioner, Armstrong County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1901 term; resigned from the House, March 8, 1902; died, November 14, 1910 in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; interred, Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
