COX, John Fremont, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, October 6, 1852 in Mifflin Township, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Westminster College; graduated, Mount Union College, 1875; teacher (3 years); lawyer (1880-1911); elected, burgess, Homestead (2 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1885 and 1887 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1889); elected, solicitor, Homestead; reelected to the House to serve the 1909 and 1911 terms; elected, Speaker (1909-1911); died while in office, November 6, 1911 in Homestead, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Homestead Cemetery, Munhall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
