COTTER, Patrick Richard, a Representative from McKean County; born in Queenstown, Ireland, March 13, 1841; served, 69th Regiment, New York Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); served, 5th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1865, Civil War; prisoner of war, Battle of Malvern Hill, 1862); harness maker; lawyer (1874-1901); elected, District Attorney, McKean County (1875); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1900; died while in office, April 6, 1901 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Hill Cemetery, Eldred, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
