COONS, Giles M., a Representative from Bradford County; born in Onondaga, NY, December 23, 1839; served, 106th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); apprentice, miller (1852-1861); lumberman, manufacturer and builder; elected, council, Canton; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1903 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1905 term; died, September 4, 1923 in Canton, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Park Cemetery, Canton, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
