CLARK, James Verner, a Representative from Washington County; born, July 26, 1856 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County, Pa.; attended, Washington and Jefferson College; farmer; storekeeper; elected, sheriff, Washington County (1895-1897); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1898 and 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); superintendent, Citizens Water Company; died, January 16, 1939 in East Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, West Middletown Cemetery, West Middletown, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
