CHRISTIAN, Samuel, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 25, 1846 in Glasgow, Scotland; auditor of freight receipts, Pennsylvania Railroad Company; engaged in the shoe industry; unsuccessful Prohibition Party campaign, United States Congress; unsuccessful Prohibition Party campaign, sheriff, Philadelphia County; elected as a Fusion Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 term; died while in office, July 24, 1908, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
