CASSEL, Henry Burd, a Representative from Lancaster County; born in Marietta, Lancaster County, Pa., October 19, 1855; attended, Columbia Classical Institute; proprietor, wholesale and retail lumber business; member, Lancaster County Republican Committee (1881-1909; chair, 1893-1894); elected, council, Marietta (12 years); secretary and treasurer, Pennsylvania Electric Company; president, Marietta Manufacturing Company; president, Lancaster Building & Loan Association (1895-1900); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (1896); director and president, Marietta Gravity Water Company (1898); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898 and 1900; resigned from the House, November 30, 1901; elected, United States Congress (December 2, 1901-1909); died, April 28, 1926 in Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Marietta Cemetery, Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
