CARTER, Thomas, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pa., February 7, 1856; blacksmith; laborer, glass industry; proprietor, hotel business (19 years); employed, American Steel and Wire Company; inspector, Bureau of Construction, city of Pittsburgh (1899-1903); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1911 and 1913 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1915 term; employed, A. M. Byers Company, steel and iron pipe manufacturer; died, March 24, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, South Side Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
