CARSON, Cornelius, a Representative from Washington County; born, Fallowfield Township, Washington County, Pa., on December 29, 1848; attended, California Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, California); teacher (2 years); farmer (1868-1882); partner, planing mill; proprietor, furniture store (4 years); elected, mayor, Monongahela (1895-1898); elected, council, Monongahela; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1912; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1914, 1918); proprietor, grocery store; died, January 2, 1932 in Monongahela, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Maple Creek Cemetery, Charleroi, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
