CARROLL, John Scott, a Representative from Fayette County, born, January 5, 1860 in Wharton Township, Fayette County, Pa; teacher (9 years); principal, Dunbar schools (10 years); elected, superintendent, Fayette County schools (1899-1905, 1913-1930); director, First National Bank, Dunbar; vice president, Carroll Lumber Company; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1906; reelected in 1908 and 1910; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1912); insurance agent (1930-1933), died, December 24, 1933 in Dunbar, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
